Because of the HD textures you're forced to download if you want to or not. Ubisoft version is less than 100GB.

It's actually closer to 130. The game comes with Farcry 3 Blood Dragon, too, which is another 40 gigs. I still had to do some uninstallin' for it, though!

only took an hour to download for me, got it on my 2TB M2 SSD :)

my connection isn't that good, going to take all day. having to install it onto HDD until i can clear room on my SSD and then i'll transfer it over.

Nope, it's 171GB without FC3BD. Check your install folder, none of the files relate to FC3BD. Additionally the Steam version of FC3BD is 3.5GB, less than 10% of what you say.

It's good to have gigabit internet, I had FC6 down in less than 30min... (not including the 3 days wait for a larger SSD to arrive 🤡)

You can delete all the DLCs, HD texture pack and the language packs you don't use. It's literally 40-60 gigs of useless data.

Ahh, interesting... When I was installing it, Steam said both were going to be 170 which went down to 130 when I unchecked Blood Dragon. But you're right - the folder is 171 gigs.

the download is 138.6 gb, but it's 171 gb installed space

It includes all the voice and text languages for every supported language plus the HD pack.

You can remove them manually in the folder.

The language thing really annoys me. I wish it would only install the language you set. and I think that was a feature in the past. in this case, it is at least 16 GB just for the audio for the other languages.

man that's a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ way to do it. should have made that stuff optional downloads for people that need/want it.

it might in a future update if it gets enough complaints cause Far Cry New Dawn and Far Cry 5 both have it as an option in the DLC tab in steam

wouldn't count on it. they haven't really put effort into the Steam versions of their games.

Then why does New Dawn and far Cry 5 have it? 6 hasn't been on steam that long be patient

Hard to understand why Ubisoft do this, but players had problems linking dlc's they bought later to the main game. And if you get a corrupt download and have to verify the game files
it take some time and the files you deleted will probably download again.

Another thing thats new now: If you got the full game on Ubisoft (with dlc's) and the
main/standard game on Steam, the dlc's from Ubisoft works on your Steam edition.

But we only have to wait IF Ubisoft respond about the big download....
