A character ask me to put on gear I don't have

I at a point in the game where a character is asking me to put on some gear that i not in my inventory. I have no idea what gear this is. What do I do at this point?

The missions can happen out of sequence due to how the hub system is set up. I'd start on a different mission.

You can wear all gears what you have or got for the moment. You can also mix it, it does no matter. What you hear are only propositions. Each part has its own characteristics, but once you're a little better, you usually only use the set with which you can make the fastest progress.

The character asking me to suite up does not move out of the small hamlet where i contacted him. If I move too far from his location, the game forces me to restart that mission. There also seems to be no way to cancel the mission. So, I am stuck and unable to progress. I don't know what gear I am supposed to suite up with.

which one the drug plants one with the fire and breathing gear? I got it fine when I played it, its not in your inventory its in your arsenal

If it's in the start of the game it's the Hazmat mask/Fuego mitts gear (helps poison). You get it from the character (Julio) that ask you to put it on.

You only have a couple of gear by then. Try to "shift" gear a few times?
If it doesn't try restart the mission or verify the game files (take some time 120Gb++).

THere is a dude standing in a hamlet and ask me to suite up. In my arsenal there is a mask of some sort, but I cannot access it. Maybe this is the gear the character is asking me to wear.

Yeah it's the game scene.

Maybe you got a corrupt file dowwnload. Press M----Arsenal---Gear---Helmet/head gear---.--Hazmat mask---R---ESC (on your keybord.

It's the mask you gonna use (Yellow).

Repeat the above a few times if you can't see the mask, If it doesn't help you might have to restart the game or verify game files.

And the one and only quest, where you have to use a special gearpart (or 2 helmet and gloves).
