100% GPU Usage
After 17 hours of gameplay, the game has decided to start using 100% of my GPU and sit at ~<40fps. I have tried:
Updating drivers
Updating graphics
Changing all graphics settings and then reverting them
Changing the .exe properties
Checking settings in NVidia panel
Re-installing
Verifying files
Disabling all overlays
Windows game mode
Setting priorities
All other games work fine
Clearing all my profile data
Starting a new game

I have all settings on low and my specs are:
16GB Ram
1080TI
i7-770K
Installed on an SSD

Any ideas?

I have the 7700k and 1080ti and 32gb 3200mhz ram and I like my games to run at 99% gpu usage. Also I play at 2560x1440. Everything on high except shadows on med, and I'm seeing 60-90 fps with an average of 70. I only did a 9hr strait play when I bought this last night, but I'll post if I have issues like that. I just make sure nothing else is going on while I play, but I'm sure you know that.

if you were on an RTX card I would have said cap the framerate to lower the GPU usage but on a GTX card nothing you can really do they are slower is why its maxing out the GPU

yoru first 17 hours was the intro and smaller island it gets more usage once you reach the main part of the world

If it wasn't running at 100%, you'd have even less FPS. A 1080TI is more than a little venerable today. If you think it's not normal, ensure the clock speed of your video card is reaching its maximum potential and that it isn't running with a lower power profile.
~40 FPS is not bad for a six year old videocard in my opinion.

If you've installed the high res texture pack, try disabling that.

Appreciate everyone's responses but they dont seem to resolve the issue. I have noticed when I hit 'Escape' but before being pulled into the System menu, the FPS returns to normal for a brief second. The system menu seems to be fine but the rest of the menus (Map, Inventory, Etc) are also lagging. I've reached out to support but unfortunately Ubisoft Support uses chat bots for responses so im not able to receive any help there (Or their discord...they just close out my ticket when I post one).

Also, when I was getting a steady 120fps, my GPU usage was under 70%.

use ddu and try an older set of drivers for your old GPU

you may be surprised to find older drivers work better on an older card like yours

and yes always use DDU and do a clean install of your drivers

if you need older Nvidia or AMD video card drivers for any GPU look on GURU 3d.com

you can also get DDU there

120fps on a 1080ti? what... are you deciding to run lowest detail or something?

Yes, everything is low.
