Game crashing randomly

Just got the game since it was on sale a bit ago, but now I'm facing an issue where the game is constantly crashing randomly. I tried disabling Ubisoft Connect Overlay, but it didn't change anything. Not really even sure what causes it. I thought maybe it would crash randomly during a save, because it did so a few times, but it's also crashed just walking around, or mid mission.

32GB DDR5 Ram
Windows 11

All drivers and stuff fully updated. I don't get these issues in any other Ubisoft game like Valhalla, so I'm not sure what to do anymore.

Wtf is wrong with their games...
I thought you'd had crashes in Valhalla too but apparently you didn't
This problem is a pain to me because I tried to play FC6 and ACV so many times and everytime both of them started crashing at some random moments, then I just stoppe trying
Now I'm playing FC6 for 20 hours with zero crashes, I really don't know why it's working now, the only thing I did is change the screenshot button for Ubi Connect
I think like atleast 10% of players having these crashes and only thing Ubi support could say is "update your drivers and bla bla bla", it's sad, disgusting and it makes me so mad

Im right there with you on this, I tried all the usual stuff, the only way I can play for any decent amount of time is to restart my computer each time it crashes or I get a crash 2 minutes in like clockwork.

Same, and mine usually freezes after I hit continue. Been trying to continue my game for an hour, even tried verifying files and doing a full re-install.

I can't even get past one of the initial missions where you have to clear the 2 boats now because the game keeps crashing after clearing the first boat.

The game was crashing randomly after install - couldn't even complete the first mission. I figured I didn't have enough horsepower to run it (GTX 970; i7-4790K 4.00GHz X64; 16G RAM) then I went to the game properties in Steam and transferred all the files to my secondary 2TB drive. Haven't had a problem since. Only running the "High" graphics settings, but at least it's letting me play. At Level 4 now.

Mine is already on a secondary drive. Still crashing constantly. Literally unplayable at this point.

My have the screen flash black like Redfall but unlike RedFall this one freeze.

ya'll manage to fix the bug,
because.... if the issue im having is the same as yours... it would appear to still be an issue...

last time i played FC6 was back in 2021 give or take, before the dlc stories released,
stopped playing due to my gpu dying on me, finally felt like playing it again.....

only for this to keep happening :-
at random moments the game will flicker for a second (like its just alt-tab'ed),
then the game will completely lock out, but music will still be heard in the background,
leaving it to sort itself out doesn't seem to do anything,

only way to fix it is task manager closing it,

fastest its done this was before i even got the chance to pass continue,
longest its gone before locking up was being able to start and complete the tutorial island mission with the 2 ships,

it'll randomly lock up when im......
in middle of a fire fight, changing amigos outfits, capturing a checkpoint, in the workbench tweaking my guns, opening one of the blue cache boxes, using my phone to tag things,
getting into a vehicle, getting out of a vehicle,

doesn't always trigger at thoses moments, just thoses are a few of the times that it has triggered (in the space of 37 mins) :'<

so yeah, not sure if this is the same issue everyone else is having, but if it is and anyones managed to fix it, any chance ya could throw me a bone here XD

all drivers are up to date,
client (ubisoft connect), and windows 10 are up to date,
its installed in a SSD i use for my games installation location,
its the ubisoft version, not the steam version (if it matters?)
its not modded,
i didn't have a browser open, or discord,
i reset my pc and then went straight trying to play the game,
used full screen mode, borderless fullscreen,
only using one monitor,
was playing with wireless xbox x controller for pc,
turned off my wireless keyboard

..thats pretty much everything i can think off :<

oh tried playing on normal mode, and having set it to run as admin

I am on my 2nd play through. I see none these issues. Just an overly scripted game!

Hello there.

For everyone with crashes, please make sure you have also updated your motherboards drivers. There can be updates on your motherboard manufacturer website.

As for RTX 40xx series, not always the newest drivers will be the best for a few year drivers. New drivers usually focus on new titles and their optimisation.
Check older versions as well. Might be even worth checking the oldest drivers available for RTX 40xx series.

DRIVER updates ROFL, I have not done this in ages! I prefer AMD gpu's, too many issues with gefarce, I even run 4k.
