Pinging sound

Everywhere I walk every 30 secs or so I hear a clicking or ping sound.
It's almost like a prompt sound like I am near an item or something..

Can someone explain this to me?

They are guerrilla members within range of you, either ones walking around, in a enemy battle, update you with stuff around the map or you need to rescue, they have green dots above them, They will show up more and more as you rank up, collect resources and get bases and stuff taken over

Oh and also upgarde all the leader camps, They will give the guerillas better supplies, training and weapons

The actual answer for this is there's a bug that automatically pings hostages as soon as they spawn, regardless of line-of-sight or distance.

Seems to happen after you finish the mission to unlock Boom Boom, or at least when you get to that area of the map.

There is no fix, Ubisoft don't care (and can't even understand it, someone reported it and the response completely ignored the pinging issue and just said "being able to spot hostages with the phone is a feature").

The only workaround is to download the Libertad mod and enable the option to disable the ping sound, although this completely removes the ping (even when actually scouting) and doesn't disable Dani randomly saying the "hostages" line.
