West Africa? But you are right, not much left to touch.
Obviously I can't confirm plans for the future of DLCs, but I would like to clarify there are is no currently planned Colonial Rework (whether in this DLC or in the future) at this time.
if I recall correctly this belief began around a year ago from a dev comment on the forums, at that time the scope of this DLC coming with 1.37 was being considered to include a potential colonial rework, but due to priorities and time constraints we felt efforts would be better used to touch up frequently requested nations that exist at the start (Venice, Timurid, etc)
Can't say for sure what the future holds, since things always have a tendency to change, but there won't be any colonial reworks anytime "soon" unfortunately.
I am quite confident that there won't be any big reworks, especially of colonialism. With Project: Ceasar dev diaries coming out we can quite clearly say it is EU5. Some flavor packs for various areas of the world are one thing, big changes to the core of the game - a whole other. Though I would love to see "dismantle border fortification" and "dismantle fortification" peace deals.
About Mongol Brother Realm
Very nice thing. Thanks for that DLC. Have some thoughts about it.
First - In case of rebuilding of Mongol Empire it would be better to create 4 nations, like it was in history - one to each son of Genghis Khan. To Golden Horde, Ilkhante and Yuan add Chagatai's Ulus, as part of the Empire. Probably more nations.
Second - creating mechanics like Holy Roman Empire or Mandate of Heaven. Would be interesting, especially in electing news Great Khan (kind of influence on Holy See), sanctioning news invasions (Kurultai), creating news uluses inside of the Empire (nations), etc.
As long as people keep buying DLCs, Paradox know there is interest and will keep making more. They won't put a cow out to pasture until they milk it dry. After all, we know EU5 will be a bare bones game for years, just like Vicky 3, CK3, and Imperator Rome are compared to their source material.
