Check the patch notes. Quite a lot of the features that you were waiting for are just in the free patch, I will buy it anyway but I just wanted inform that to everyone.

Without the "spam" of DLCs the game would be abandoned. They work for money.

I am glad that they keep making my favorite game better and I will gladly pay for it. I don't buy the content packs, but all the major DLCs yes.. But hey - nobody is forcing you to buy it.. You still get the free patch with lot of stuff! Paradox is awesome at this... They keep working on their games and give majority of new content to everyone for free! DLCs are here to pay for the developers.. No one can do this for free..
