If as Germany I form the HRE, does my nation turn into the HRE instead?

Simple question - I formed Germany in my current Wurttemburg game and have all but 2 reforms finished. For mostly cosmetic reasons [Germany is a beautiful blue :p], I don't want to change from Germany to the HRE so I am wondering if I already turned into Germany, will I still turn into the HRE if I unite all the provinces?

It will turn into the HRE if you enact the reform. I suppose you could make them vassals and diplo-annex them as Germany?

Hmmm... its an iron man game so I can't just go back and not turn into Germany, but for a future game - could I form the HRE first and then form Germany?

I think it's Germany ---> HRE and doesn't work in reverse. Then again I've only formed the HRE as Austria.

According to the wiki, the only requirements are owning the mentioned provinces plus having primary culture of :

Hannoverian
Pommeranian
Hessian
Saxon
Bavarian
Prussian
Rheinlaender

In theory you could start as Brandenburg, acquire the Prussian and German lands, become Emperor, and form Prussia, Germany, and the HRE in any order

Not sure if it actually works in any order. I did what most people did and created Germany and then united the HRE.

No, you can't form Germany as the HRE. I started as Brandenburg and formed the HRE and I lost the decisions to form Prussia and Germany.

Germany blue? Its a dull Grey unless moded, pretty much the same color as the HRE.

Its definitely a blue. Certainly better looking than the HRE :p

Pretty sure 1.2 changed Germany's colors to blue.
