How to get rid of theocracy?
Formed Germany as Teutonics and I'm still a useless theocracy.

Do I just have to wat for an event/rebels to pop-up?

Can't diplo vassalize :D:

OP: I never tried to change my own government type in EU4 but I remember there being a choice of governments with more advanced research in Eu3 (it might be different in EU4 though).
And if you have formed Prussia you would have gotten monarchy, lol.

AI can and you can't?
Brandeburg/Pommerania/Teutonic order - all 3 of them can do it given the required provinces are captured and the year is right as the event becomes available after certain date (or was that in EU3?).

Ummm, yes you can? There's an event called "Reform into Prussia" which is basically forming Prussia.

You can change your change your goverment type on the first tab (Goverment). There is a button on the left side with symbol of Crown and arrow heading to the right... check this picture http://eu4wiki.com/images/thumb/d/d5/Euivgovernment.jpg/400px-Euivgovernment.jpg

Any Prussian, Saxon or Pommeranian culture country that is not Papal State, HRE or Germany can form Prussia afaik. Teutonic Order and Brandenburg having decision specific for them and the rest having a generic decision.

OT, afaik aside from the Prussia formation Theocracies can't change government via the usual change government button in EU4. Try losing to rebels that want to change government?

In EUIV, you can't change between forms of gov't without a special event (Example: DHE for Milan where they get their special type of republic or reforming Prussia or forming Italy ), a rebellion, or if you're a republic, letting your republican tradition fall too low. So your only bet now is to hope that a revolution occurs in your land and letting the rebels take power.
