Grant electorate

I'm the Emperor and there are six electors, but it isn't giving me the option to grant an elector. It's also not giving me the option to force religious unity. I have around 40 imperial influence right now.

You have no emperor actions at all when in diplomacy screen for any member of the HRE? Did you enact Erbkaisertum?

I have the demand unlawful territories action, and the bestow imperial grace action. I don't remember which one that was. I just enacted the one that made it illegal to directly fight other member states.

Seriously, why the ♥♥♥♥ can't I grant an electorate? Is it glitched?

Yeah, i've restarted multiple times. It's 1702

Maybe it's simply too late. Papal functions cease around the late 1640's - 50's.

That's dumb, because now i'm not pulling in as much imperial authority because there is a missing elector. Six of the electors are my vassals and are safe from annexation, but the other one got nabbed up.

Seriously, anybody out there play as the HRE? Is this just what happens in the late game? Because it's kinda weird not to be able to appoint electors.

I've formed it a half dozen times and I might vaguely, vaguely recall something like that, but I've normally hit the no-more-elections reform half a century or more before the 1700's

This game is fun, don't get me wrong, but at times it's really stupid. How is the reneveto what ever the ♥♥♥♥ vassal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ even supposed to work? It brought it so many wars with so many different countries that I can't even click on the right one. Why the ♥♥♥♥ would countries like Algiers even care that I was improving the stability of my empire? Just seems dumb to me

I have the largest army in the world, but I can't take on every single country on my border + the countries in the HRE + whatever other retarded ally that somebody has. Any tips to completing this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Also, I looked at the peace screen and some countries were too big to vassalize. Is it an event that happens, or what? Do I just have to take the capital?

1650 is the year where Enforcing religious unity and granting new electorates stops working. The same year the Different Religion CB from the religious ideas stops working. Also when trying to use renevatio imperii, you will have to fight each and every member of the HRE that votes against it (check the tooltip to see how many are for or against it). So if you've been forcing your way through the reforms by vassalizing most members and not caring about the rest, many of the others will fight. 100 Imperial authority and so on will help.

You want every single Prince in favor of "Revoke the Priveligia". If they aren't voting for it, they leave the HRE and go to war with you. If they are voting for it, they become your vassal. That means getting 100 authority, improving relations, making alliances, bestowing grace, whatever it takes

Ok, thanks for the tips! The grant electorate thing needs to be fixed, because not having enough electors gives you a penatly to authority.

It's not something to be "fixed". It's part of the history, the same way the papal functions will peter out, the reformation and counter-reformation will stop butting heads, etc. You simply need to move faster on it, play the diplo game with the HRE, and get at least to Erbkaisertum to abolish the elections, after which the number of electors is irrelevant, a lot sooner than you have in your game.
