Yeah, probably should have mentioned that. Do not ever convert unless your country is at least 50-60% practicing that religion already. Prepare for endless religious turmoils. When you convert you are gifted 500 or 650 or something ducats. Use them to purchase the tile of defender of the faith, so you can get an additional missionary for conversions. Then start converting as much as you can.
You enter the age of reformation automatically when it starts and you can change to protestant when the first center of reformation spawned. If you have the Lions of the North dlc though, then the Teutonic Order has other means of becoming Prussia through the mission tree, the best option is Theocratic Catholic Prussia.
