"True Catholic" Achievements

Hi,
for some reason the ingame steam menu is always saying that I'm "so close" to this achievement even after having for a lot of times 4 cardinals controled by me and the same number in the Curia.

Any one else with something alike?

I can't get the royal marriage achievement. Only says I'm close to it aswell.

"So close" doesn't really mean anything with achievements that are "yes or no".
If you didn't get the achievment, check that you're playing Ironman, NO MOD (incl CK2 exports) and from 1444 START DATE. Anything else disable achievements

I'm playing in ironman mode and already unlock several of them, both before and after of when that one should had been unlocked.

I already got like 15 achievements, so I am playing correctly. Still the royal marriage achievement doesn't work. (The renovatio imperi achievement neither)

In my case while I was unlocking other achivements with that current game i was only able to unlock this one when I started a new game.

I'm having problems with this achivement too, getting others just not this one, even though I have 4 cardinals and my PU has the other 3

I'm also one of those having problems with this achievement. So far haven't had any problems with other achievements.

If this doesn't prove that I deserve it, I don't know what does! ;)

perhaps you're too true catholic so beyond the requirements :-)
btw I had something similar with other achievements and starting new game fixed the issue, it sucks but have you tried with a brand new game from scratch?

I've had that issue with three Catholic games so far (Castille/Spain, England/GB, and France); I have no idea why this single achievement won't unlock for some people. I guess it's no biggie - I heard that patch 1.2 will bring some new achievements to rant about ;)

yes it's annoying that achievements won't unlock for some weird reason, I would post this in support paradox forum, and maybe you can provide them your save file and perhaps they'll fix it.

Btw I don't think this is a deal breaker, this game is awesome and steam achievements is like a nice addition.

Precisely! I'd rather they corrected other issues; achievements are only, just as you mentioned, a nice addition.

*Bump* Having this problem as well. Think I might try a reload of the current save, if it doesn't work it's ok... I'll try another achievement.

This discussion is rather old, I don't know if this was fixed or not, but some simple questions: are you playing in ironman mode, starting from date 1444, no mods at all and connected online through steam? Lacks of one of this can make your achievement not unlocked. Further if the game was updated since you started the campaign the achievement won't register.

So you must start a campaign for every new version, ironman mode, first date available and no mod at all (precisely no one which changes checksum); if in these conditions it doesn't work report the bug to paradox forum.
