Army won't attack or seige enemy
I dunno if im just a noob, but my army won't attack the country im at war with. My army of 21k is sitting on top of an enemy 3k army in their province... I am Sweden fighting Luneburg... Anyone know why this is happening?

edit: to add more info. England asked me to help them in a war. I kicked denmarks ♥♥♥. Denmark sued for peace with England. I got a province. My army has a path back to my country, but it's a long way.... Denmark between my army and my country...

edit: Not demo

this happend to me several times, I think it's a bug. try to attack another one of the enemy's provinces, that usually fixes it.

Goto the official forum and post your problem in the bug forum. That way they can fix it in the next update.

are you playing the demo?

Check to see if there's a small black box next to the unit. After a war is over your unit gets the status "exile", which basically grants them diplomatic immunity so they can walk on anybody's territory and won't be attacked, but cannot attack in return until they reach your own territories.

Exactly this. Get to one of your provinces and you should be able to attack again.

Yeah it's a bug with the "exiled" mechanic. When you are in neutral territory and you do not have a military access your men will be exiled. This effect should disappear as soon as you step on one of your provinces or an enemy one. But sometimes it wouldn't go away even when you are in enemy territory. Mighty annoying if you are fighting a serious war. Retreat your army to one of your own territories or your allies'.

It is NOT a bug, it is very much intentional

Exiled status will ONLY be removed if you get to a friendly territory, that being your own, an ally in a war or somewhere you have military access. Note that captured enemy territory also fits this category and can be used.

I don't see how it is intentional since there is no reason to maintain the exiled status even on enemy terrotiry. They are not exiled. If it is, then it's just a poor and outright illogical design choice. Also it doesn't work for me sending my troops in a captured province. I have to march them all the way back home. Silly.

It's the same rule you'll see in several sports. If you go out of bounds you have to re-establish yourself with both feet inbounds before you can touch the ball again.

Pretty sure it's working as intended and is a design choice made for MP matches I'm thinking. So a player can't exploit a previous war to screw over another player. I'm fine with it and don't see it as an issue.

Thank you everybody!! I will reason it as a broken supply line... it's less convenient but that's not what this game is about. Thanks again!

AI can get exiled too, maybe it's that. Else a screenshot would help a lot in figuring it out.

"Exile" also happens when you are defending an ally. When the ally has war declared on, your stationed troops go black flag. This is most amusing with protectorates, where your overseas protecting army goes black flag.

Bug? no. Ask for military access before you start the war.
