'Time of Troubles' event/modifier (RUSSIA)
How the hell do you put an end do it?

It's 1651 and I've been suffering constant pretender and peasant uprisings for over sixty years. Yes, that's six decades of fighting off gigantic pretender armies, some as large as 45000 troops. All of my international ambitions have been erased due to the need to have my 98000 soldiers at home constantly fighting rebels, and having to maintain maximum upkeep means that any construction, colonisation or other costly tasks are near impossible as well. I'm basically stuck not being able to do anything so long as this modifier is in effect.

I feel like I've tried everything: +3 stability, +90 legitimacy, +60 prestige, 0% overextension, high patriarch authority; yet the rebellions keep on coming!

Is there a year that this ridiculous modifier ends? What am I supposed to do to stop it? Help me, brothers!

I've done some reading, and thanks to a gentleman on the Paradox forums whose looked into the code, I can tell you all that you need +3 stability for 24 months + NO rebels in your territory + NO wars to trigger an end to the event.

I'd advise anyone playing Russia to try and keep +3 stability at all times between 1550 and 1650 as that hundred year window is when the event can begin if your stability is low.

+3 Stability????????

And how on earth would you scrounge up Majesty points to pay for that?

High War Exhaustion, low stabiliy, low monarch stats can also increase the chances of the event firing.

Actually, +1 stability is enough. I was just starting westernization when I got hit by ToT and still did it. It's not THAT bad.
I'm glad I read this, I'm playing a Russia game at the moment and I'm within that time window too (pretty covered though, I think - got decent stability plus the building that helps reduce local revolt chance in all provinces)

You guys realize this thread is from August right?

Not all of us have played Russia though.

The point is some one is bringing threads back from the dead that are no longer relavent because they've been patched.

+1 stability was not enough before this event was patched.

Whether the event becomes a major problem for you or not boils down to circumstance. Similarly, sometimes a Peasant War comes at a bad time and is very frustrating, other times you can end it very easily. It's all in the timing. Trust me, for my Russia this event was "THAT bad". I wouldn't have asked for help if it was easy to deal with.

I hope it is easier to deal with now because it was a nightmare back around EU4's launch.

They nerfed it, that's why I was being an ass about the thread necro being no longer useful.
