Constant stability lowering events
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... why are there so many events that lower stability? It seems like at least once a year I get some sort of event that lowers my stability. How am I supposed to get any administrative tech when I'm constantly having to dump points into keeping my stability at a decent level?

The intended design is that it shouldn't be easy to consistently be at +3 stability. Seems to be the case.

I'm not even trying to stay at +3 stability. I'm desperately struggling to stay at +1.

lol. Hell im tryin to stay at 0. It ain't easy.
I had the same thing when playing as Venice. It felt like 4 of every 5 events lowered stability and usually immediately after I got it to +1. I got it to +2 once but the game punished me for that and shortly thereafter venice was incorporated into Austria. lol

Strangely playing as Castille I've actually been getting events that raise stability instead or that at least let you choose between losing stability or losing money and some power or taking a relations hit with someone while gaining a core. At least it was a choice unlike the ones I kept getting with Venice where you basically lose it regardless. Maybe Castille is just historically more lucky than Venice because that's all I could come up with.
I was wondering the same thing. Everytime I'd get to 0 stability it would pop up with an event that would give me 2 seperate choices....both resulting in -1 to stability. Probably just balance issues and teething problems I suspect.

Trying to play as england with the war of the roses going on is a nightmare, everyone hates me and I have no money.

That dumb "blablabla your military is comprised of bickering idiots, sucks to be you" one? I kept getting that one. Extremely irritating. And then the god-awful comet event...
I started as England...managed to get white peace with the French but it crippled me. No man power, no army and no money. Got a couple of successive stability events (including the one above) and the "Lollards" event and got 8 rebellions all at once! Got alliance with Brittany, Denmark, Navarro but Burgundy attacked and they all cancel the alliance. Frustration isn't the word lol.

You aren't past 100% over extension, are you? That gives you a lot of bad events.
I will admit im a Europa virgin so there is a lot of mechanics im unfamiliar with. I'm hoping it's me not knowing stuff as opposed to the game. Despite the frustartion I will persevere. I had similar teething issues with CK II at first and I love that game.

At least you now know what Paradox games are like. It is like with beer... it tastes horrible, but if you just keep drinking, you eventually start to like it.

that's because you are drunk, if you are drinking the right beer it should taste good.

It seems you get a lot of stability decreasing events if you overextend. I'm playing as Aragon and I have colonized most of the America's and are getting bombard'ed with events.

@Bitcrusher, I think what he meant was that paradox games and beer are both aquired tastes. They are not something, for the most part, you start out in love with.

That's exactly as it should be. The intention is that normal be between 0 and +1; +3 would be some brief golden age looked back on with wonder.
