Do we know if EU5 is coming out this year?
It will be my first PDX game.

The game has not even been announced yet. All information about release dates is pure speculation
等公告吧,可能在今年后半年会出来?

maybe paradox will butcher the ui in this one, too!
Definitely won't be this year.

They announced a big title for this year so it is very likely we get unfinished broken on release EU5 in fall.
Nothing has been confirmed so far.

From what we can see in the Tinto Talks, release seems to be getting closer, but isn't just around the corner either. My own guess is announcment late this year and release around early 2026.
This is however just an internet random's guess in the dark. It could be much earlier, or much later. Don't put any more stock in this than in AI Russia's finances. (Edit: just noticed you had never played EU4 so to explain the joke: in EU4, Russia when played by the AI is always in massive debt, mostly due to a kinda rough start and an annoying trade setup.)

with the botched releases of vic3 and skylines 2 and all the complaints about lack of content in dlc's for hoi4 vic3 stellaris and ck3 i doubt paradox will release their new flagship game broken and lacking in content. they simply can not afford to mess up this release. customer trust is at an all-time low for pdx

You know that EU5 need tree to five dlc to start floating?
Maybe tree is enough. But all in all, it will be rather basic in the release. The point is… hopefully the main engine is solid, and it is easy to build Upon it with DLC without making it hard to maintain spagethi! If the foundation is solid, it is easier to add features later and bug hunting also is faster.
If we're lucky it might get announced this year. But released? Extremely unlikely.

I'm very surprised it hasn't been officially announced yet. I never thought we'd get more than a year of dev diaries before then. A few months, sure. But not a year. That fact alone has made me unwilling to hazard a guess on release.

...tree? do you mean three, or just tree?
Phone typing is hell!
;)
I need this out because the engine of EU4 is so outrageously old
