Decay

Hi! I just got the game and I need some info on something that's really crushing my prestige...
What is decay, how does one accumulate it and, more importantly, how do you get rid of it?
Please reply with any help available.

you have base 5% decay on prestige and traditions... its just "fading" away, achievments of your nation 300 years ago just arent that impressive anymore^^
so its completely normal.
its also works the other way, so if u have -prestige, it will go up.

There are ideas you can adopt that balance out prestige decay. So long as you continue to win wars, explore new lands among other things you should be able to maintain your prestige. A good idea you can adopt to combat decay for example is Patron of the Arts in the Innovative idea group. Beccoming HRE or Papal controler also balance out decay.Key is to find a strategy that fits nicely into your long term strategic goals to keep your nation an impressive force in the years to come.

Quill is fun to watch, but I wouldn't really recommend him to a beginner trying to learn the game.
Mind you, he's very entertaining and I like watching his LP's, but he's not always good at the games he plays. He entertains, but he doesn't teach you how to play.
