Gives you the option of expanding big, taking out france, doing the Relgious Wars, and being in the catholic relgion group to PU each other.
You have some very natural and historical borders if you want to be friendly or you get to compete for rich eastern provinces if you want to go that route.
Although to be fair, if you're not going to be helping each other out it's a lot simpler to just each pick a continent and start there. :p
