Good Co-Op nation combinations?

Hey, I play a lot of cooperative MP with a buddy of mine and usually we spend a lot of the playtime discussing which two nations to pick.

Which two nations would you pick and why?

The rules are simple: We usually don't help each other out in war, but we wouldn't ever attack each other.

Only restriction is France, because what's the point of being a conqueror if you can't crush France? :D

maybe burgundy and castile/spain or england/great brittian and burgundy or england/great brittain and castile/spain

I operate under similar rules, and I basically just try to pick someone far away from my friend. For instance, if he picks Venice, I might pick a Manchu Jurchen. If he picks Vijayanagar, I might pick Sweden.

Possibly Italy/Scandanavia.

Gives you the option of expanding big, taking out france, doing the Relgious Wars, and being in the catholic relgion group to PU each other.

Ottomans/Golden Horde.

You have some very natural and historical borders if you want to be friendly or you get to compete for rich eastern provinces if you want to go that route.

Although to be fair, if you're not going to be helping each other out it's a lot simpler to just each pick a continent and start there. :p

Austria/Poland would work well I think.

France/Castile too

Russia/Ming was another interesting combination

I played with my sister in law and she always picks England. I picked Cusco and Brunei. maybe next time ill pick France or Austria and take her out so she gets pissed off and my brother will get none for a week.

Ottomans and tunisia, Russia and poland/Sweden, france and england, burgandy and spain, venice and austria, japan and ming,portugal and aragon. Those are the ones i normally do.
