How to make a trade company.

Just got WON, and have no idea how to make one. Help.

You need to colonize Africa (or the far east) as a European nation. You can find the trade company areas in the mapmodes tab(icon being a shield with some crates in it).

When you have a colony finished in one of those areas, you can choose it and in the province overlay there should be an option to "create trade company" or "add to trade company"

Sorry I don't have a save game currently where I can check the specifics sadly, so can't be more accurate than that.

After you create the trading company it should appear in your "subjects" tab, and from there you can "add all" in case you take over a bunch of provinces from other nations.

The button to convert to a trade company is on the province tab. Just click the province on the map and look for it, its sort of in the middle towards the bottom?

If you just bought WON make sure it is actually installed. Steam can be a bit finicky with DLCs, you may have to reinstal EU4. You can verify the DLC in the launcher, make sure it's checkmarked.

None of those options are there, when i load up my game it says the dlc is there.

please help, theres a greyed out button on the province's trade section (near the bottom). Also, it keeps becoming a colony, and i want it to be a trade company.

You can only add fully grown cities to a trade company, so you'll have to finish the colony before you can add it.
Also check the "Trade Company Regions" mapmode you see where you can establish them (basically Africa and coastal Asia).

Its greyed out (i think, i dont know what the button is, there is a greyed out button that i suspect it is.)

Yep, all are colonies. I started the game AFTER i got the dlc (i know its active as it says so before i click "play") Also, when i go into the trade company view, none of the provinces show up, ive checked online at online maps of the trade company areas, and none of them appear for me.

What do you mean "they don't appear" it should show them with different colours.

Closest one to Europe starts at "Trarza" and goes all the way down the coast to "Benguela"

You are playing as a European nation right ?

Im playing as the Hansa. And by "dont appear" i mean the entire map in that mapmode is grey, 100%, no changes in colours or anything of the sort. I've colonized Tarza, and dont know what to do.

will do in a second. Just watched paradox themselves make one, none of the correct buttons are there. The map doesnt work, but it SAYS WON is installed. Which doesnt make sense.
