Error Writing Savegame

I keep getting this error every time I try to save, regardless if it's an autosave or not. The only mod that I'm using is extended timeline (however, I've been using this mod for a VERY long time, and I've never had this problem before now).

Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it? I have WAY to much time currently invested in my current game, and I really do not want to lose it.

If you are using cloud then check if you have it all filled it up.

If you are using local and your folder is in program files then either move it away from there(the best option, shouldn't have games in there anyway) or confirm admin rights to read&write all check.

Do you mean my save files? No, they're not in program files.

As for cloud, it's actually completely empty at the moment.

I meant the game folder, though while you are at it checking if nothing weird happened in documents is also a good idea.

And if it is neither then I have no clue. Both local and cloud, ironman and not all fail?

All my save files seem fine. And I can load them all okay, I just can't seem to save, or even create a new save file at all...

I decided to try to save using cloud, and I just get that same message every time: Error Writing Savegame, are you using forbidden characters?

Hum, well one would expect to notice if they were using forbidden characters so my last suggestion is to do a full clean reinstall to see if problem goes away.

Move any valued save games elsewhere(messages settings too if you want) and delete local files in Steam. Then go to steam library and delete anything left in eu4 folder, same for the eu4 folder in documents. Re-install game and run a verify after that.

Ok. I deleted everything (except my one important save file which I moved somewhere else for a minute), unsubbed from extended timeline (just to be safe), and completely deleted the game.

At least it should only take about 2 minutes to download the game again...

Well, that worked for a while, but I just started getting those messages again.

Any other ideas?

Nope, working for some time is very weird. Create a thread on the Paradox Technical Support here[forum.paradoxplaza.com] and say what you already did.

Switched saving every year to every month. It helped on the pirate.
