HRE Elector not backing the country they have the most votes for
In my game, I'm playing as Saxony and am desperatly trying to become HRE emperor. As the Austrian king is about 60 I need to secure enough votes. Austria has three votes for them and I have three votes for myself. The last elector is Bohemia, and they're supposed to be voting for me as I have the most points (257) and austria has 8 less than that at 249, However instead of voting for either of us, they are voting for themselves (They give themselves a score of 112, a vastly smaller number).

Does one need a clear 10 point margin in order to secure a vote? Why are they not voting for me? (It has been about half a year from when I first checked) Why do they rate themselves so low?

As I understand it the calculation to vote for their own country is separate from the calculation to vote for someone else and as far as I know the only way to affect that is to reduce their size so they don't have an interest in being emperor anymore and that doesn't always work.

Probably easier to steal of one Austria's votes.

The originally voted for me, put after 5 years they decided to vote for themselves. Also, their country is in the list of countries that they give points for. They only gave themselves about half of what they gave me. If this was the case, then why would they be in that list and why wouldn't their country be at the top?

Don't know really. All I know for sure is that the 'have an strategic interest in becoming emperor' is a separate calculation from the points comparison between eligible countries.

And while it would make sense for them not to be in the list at all as it is supposed to be about the modifiers to vote for someone else and opinion is by far the one with greatest weight which doesn't affect themselves(likely why their number is so low by the way) I figure maybe it is there as 'If no country can be bothered to make the little effort to get more the elector will vote for themselves'.
