WTF is rebel sentiment and how can I stop it?

Its p1ssing me off. They're getting "Rebel Sentiment" right out of the blue.

You are overextended. You either need to core what you just took or sell the provinces, preferrably to a vassal. If I recall correctly at 100% overextension this is the most common event to fire, the likely hood of these types of events firing increases as your overextension increases.

Oh, that makes sense, since I have 112% overextension...

Yeah - Never, ever, ever, EVER go above 100% Overextension. It opens up to some of the worst events you can imagine in the game.

Whatever it takes - Get rid of it ASAP. Hand off a province to a vassal. Sell land to someone - Bury it in a deep hole.

Im france and almost every war I encounter in India goes over 100%, it all works out fine with no problems because I have a top notch military and a GREAT economy. So rebels get knocked out within 4 months of spawning

Instead you can have provinces released as nations and beat them in submission the next year.

Another thing is support of rebels combined with Espionage. Bestowing 7% extra unrest on an empire works a charm.

well you can go to 140 % overextension if you have the troops and manpower to kill 20x 57k rebel doomstacks( which is completely irrealistic but well ), I could survive this as late ( 1800 ) very powerful spain trying to get the "own all of india" achievement, but this achievement seems mostly impossible with recent updates, too many provinces, huge peace timeouts and more.

Well I'm in the midsts of doing it and I have almost the entire west coast of India and it's the early 18th century

I did it as the ottomans, make a land bridge and you dont get the crap 75% distant overseas, also you can vassal indian tech countires as the turks

In the game, they consider the Ottomans on the European continent.

"European country" is any country with their capital in Europe, so yes, Ottomans count.
