Europa Universalis IV

Europa Universalis IV

"Complete edition" not so complete?
So I've been looking to get EU IV for a while now, seeing if I could pick it up in a favourable discount or bundled package. And it strikes me as odd that the "complete" packages are far from complete.

I've seen the Paradox Platinum bundle (no longer available I think?) that provides the base game but not really any of the DLC.
Then there's the collection on the store page, which leaves out many of the DLC aswell.
And there are similar such packages that are available or occasionally pop up.

So, the big question: Is there, or is there going to be a 'definitive' complete edition that actually contains all of it (or atleast all of it that affects the game). Containing all EU IV content to-date.
Or alternately, if there isn't - what would be the 'best way' to acquire the complete package (short of dropping almost a hundred euros on it).

It seems strange that there are so many bundled packages that drop the price but there is no official complete package on offer anywhere.

thing is, EU4 keeps getting heavily updated every few months, in stark contrast to most other games out there (at least those that have a "gold edition" or something - those are (mostly) finished), so there's no way for Paradox to put out a "complete edition" without invalidating it shortly after. Maybe they'll put one out once EU5 releases, but until then there's just no sense in doing so, both for them and for us.
The "best way" I'd say is to wait a few weeks or months until the next of the 80% sales that Paradox throws around
EU3 is good example:
- Europa Universalis III Complete includes Europa Universalis III, In Nomine DLC and Napoleons Ambition DLC.
- Europa Universalis III Collection = Europa Universalis III Complete + 12 more DLCs

Probably they will release a trully Complete edition, with different name of pack, when they release last of DLCs.

I'm well aware of that - However its a digital game. They're not putting boxes out there with complete editions.

Its very easy for Paradox to update their complete package, or release a newer "complete package".
Guess for the time being I'll just hold off untill they do so (or untill a big sale rolls around).
Yeah Summer sale if you can wait on it would be best bet. EU4 just had a 75% sale a couple of weeks ago when the El Dorado DLC launched
Odds are at some point they will have a true 'complete' package for the game and dlc's but I doubt it will be soon. As pointed out above though it will probably be similar to Eu3. Chronicles (base game+ all expansions) didn't come out till a year after Divine Wind. I can't recall now when the collection released (base game, expansions + dlc) came out, but I want to say it was mid to late 2013.
