Power projection... bonus or something to put effort in?
Title...

I just started a campaign as brandenburg. And i decided to try and keep it up and well i kept it up (above 50) for nearly 50 years then lost it for about 10.

My strategy is take what you want from the target you declared war on force it allies out of the war with humiliation. And just try and keep it above 50.

3 monarch points per month. More moral, legitimacy, 1 extra general, etc etc. Ofc as a HRE nation its easyer then it will be for nations surrounded by a lot of powerfull ones.

Anyway i didnt do it before mnow i do i was wondering if the steam comunity was using that already or not?

I know in the original you could only humiliate a warleader making it less atractive.

PP is a bonus that you have to put effort in, so your title does not really make sense. You won't get the bonuses just by having rivals set. You need to take action.

It is easier to get PP if you have many rivals, since you get the passive modifiers and small actions like embargoes, privateering and insults can get you over the 25 mark.

Humiliation in a war is wonderful and great for when you want to hurt your rival, gain tradition, prestige and PP without taking land and gaining AE. Not everything in EU4 is about taking land immediately. The PP from a humiliation treaty will get you over the 50 point meter and keep you there for a long time.
Insulting a rival: it only gives you points for doing it to 1 rival, or can you do it to all 2 or 3 to get points from all of them?

Because I've tried doing multiple but only got points for the 1st one, but later I found out it doesn't give you points if you're in truce mode. And I'm not sure if I had a truce with them at the time So I'm not sure if you can only do it once (in so many years) or you should insult all your rivals to get max points.

What i meant was do you actively perue it abd try to get it above 50 or do you just take it as a nice bonus when you get it up without actively thinking o i should do this or that to keep my pp over 50.

Using privateers against your rivals is a great boost, you can get a constant +20 pp from it and hurt their economy at the same time

That is a good point. Since you cannot 'easily' gain prestige now from battles or exploration, PP is a good way to get some army bonuses especially if your prestige is lower than your rivals.

Just confirming, now that the topic's been raised (still learning the game a bit): Does humiliation of non-rivals have any effect?

As a republic it also gives Republican Tradition, which is just gold!

Yeah i nioticed that earlyer a battle easilly gave +5 prestige and army tradition... now i score 0,x for the most part....

If you are talking about PP than no it does not affect your PP

WRONG Humiliation always gives you 30 pp thats the ONLY thing it does. But taking provinces/ declaring war/ insulting/ etc only give pp when done to a rival

I guess its unanimous then?

We all love PP and apearently theres a lot of nice ways to earn it. Thread was/is quite informative.

The otherwise worthless idea called Espionage can actually be good if you aiming to keep your PP high since it boosts privateering, embargos etc

I stand corrected its not possible to humiliate a non rival apearently. Its strange up to now i never noticed seems i humiliated a rival each 4 times and never tried to on a non rival odd but I appologise.

But i was partially correct humiliation alwasys gives 30 pp but its only possible when its your rival... so i was wrong saying you where wrong. ;)

Actually. there is a cap of 30 PP per rival. For example, if you still have 4 PP from previously humiliating a particular rival you will only receive 26 PP bringing the total back up to 30 PP against that rival.
