Is 1.35 Ottomans A strong wc contender because of eyalet machanism?

Based on what I saw from said video, you can only fabricate the Eyalet CB on nations that have less than 150 development, not counting the CB's you get for free through their mission tree. I can't see that really being any stronger than standard conquest and forced vassalization, especially considering there's an extra step in the middle if you ever want to integrate an Eyalet.

The Ottomans will certainly be a stronger contender now that they can annex the Mamluks in 2 wars. Plus there's the bug currently where declaring the Eyalet war on Hungary while Hungary is PU'd by Austria causes you to subjugate Austria instead, leaving you with a 5-year truce with the now-independent Hungary while you still have the CB against them (that will likely be patched out eventually, but knowing the recent history of EU4 releases it'll definitely still be present at launch). But the Ottomans would still need a hell of a lot more than this to even hold a candle to Timurids into Mughals, Oirat, or Austria with a quick HRE vassal swarm in terms of world conquest potential.

Do we know if they can keep the Eyalet system if they change to Christian?

Eyalets are tied to the Ottoman Government Tier 1 reform, which as far as I'm aware is lost if you flip religions, so probably not.

That's still effectively a way to manufacture Subjugation CBs on smaller nations on command, making vassals that are cheaper to integrate than usual ones. Properly targeted, that's got some potential. Game-breaking? No. Useful? Sometimes.

Yeah. Those three nations are so much stronger than everyone else that a somewhat useful mechanic like eyalets won't make a dent in their lead. The Ottomans have never been the top choice for a WC, and this patch won't change things.

They don't take up a diplomatic relations slot though, right? That definitely makes it stronger than standard conquest/forced vassalisation. You can just keep adding more and more without having to wait to finish annexations.

Yes and No, fastest on-tag world conquest was as a horde nation speedrun, which conquered the world in 1472. (check youtube video)

And they key is AE Management (a horde has no vision on europa, so no AE), and HRE Emporship as Horde, and than speed forming (over trade company abuse) the HRE vassal swarm.

Ottman is a very good nation for this, because they can go hungary and there catolic provinces from day 1, and than switch religion for easy emporship, and they have easy access to trade company areas, if they want.

But be clear, you loose your special goverment, if you do it this way.
