>Didn't vote for austria because I thought he is a bad emperor.
>Austria declared war against me with the reason "No Reason given".
>Was completely annexed.
10/10. After the game I asked him why he did this.
He answered me: "I only play historically."
It´s actually a very difficult war if you don´t have powerful supporters. No need to feel shame for it.
I played Denmark and had to face Sweden backed by Scotland, Novgorod and Teutonics, while England and Muscowy were busy elsewhere and thus wouldn´t DOW them even when they lost thousands. It was... painful. If I didn´t have Poland and Brandenburg on my side I would easily lose.
The baltic theather is pretty interesting nowadays and relies on skill to get things going fast.
Austrian players usually try and conquer the whole HRE if someone is playing Burgundy and Hungary, as they know they are unlikely to get the PUs or the inheritance. I've played as Bohemia once, and the Austrian player allied the Commonwealth, France and Hungary, and so obviously I had no chance as there were no good allies to help me when he got the mission to pu me.
- The year is 1558
- Playing Castile.
- Spain is formed. Portugal is conquered and Aragon/Sicily are integrated.
- Focusing on North Africa and consistently working my way towards my main rival the Ottomans (Morocco, Tlemcen and Algier are conquered, cored & converted)
- Still 2 to years to wait for end of truce. My glorious army and fleet were ready to proceed kicking some tunesian/ottoman butt for the third time with help of my allies (France, Austria & Hungary).
- Trying hard to always make smart decisions since ironman. lol
- Got a bit bored waiting and sent 21k south to take the one province from Timbuktu visible to me (Taudesi, since I had colonized Tuat).
- Seemed like a waltz for my certainly way oversized and modern army.
- Too lazy to properly check Timbuktu's alliance situation.
- Occupied Taudesi in the blink of an eye.
- In the next blink of an eye my army gets almost annihilated by a tree times bigger multinational army with much stronger leaders suddenly coming out of the fog. Turns out, Timbuktu was allied with Jolof, Mali and Air.
- My utterly shocked and traumatized units get chased up north all the way to Oran.
- Need now to bring in my mainland army and call in France to the rescue in order to push those guys back, conquer some land and even my first negative warscore.
- Way to jeopardize a game by making one blindfolded decision and thoroughly stirring up a hornet's nest without need!! Learned my lesson (hopefully).

So sad. Not really, Mr. Vice President. In my current TO game its the OPPOSITE-Its 1530 and I've taken Berlin, Sachsen, Kolberg, Stolp, Sternberg, the 3 Silesian provinces, Niederlausitz, Oberlausitz, Notec and Kalisz. Also I hate OPM Brandenburg as a vassal, Muscovy and Austria as allies, in HRE. However, the war where Kalisz and Notec were taken was defensive, I got the Silesian provinces through vassalizing Silesia, and the majority of the wars involved support from allies.
Nice thread necro...
