Ultimate bundle not buyable because of low res UI
I own the base game and wanted to buy the ultimate bundle to dive deep into EU4 over the holidays. However the bad UI on a 4K screen is preventing this. Mods did not help and I really do not want to fiddle with GIMP and batch scripts.

I guess some other game is getting my money then... Unless somebody knows a low-effort solution!?

Paradox really should fix this!

Which mods did you try and which UI scale did you use for them? There are a bunch of options

I don't have a problem with 4k. I actually play at 2500x1600 windowed resolution most of the time because I can do other things also.

When I do play 4k full screen I set GUI Scale to 1.5 and works just fine. Granted I have a 48 inch monitor though.

I am also on a 48 inch 4K monitor. Setting GUI Scale to 1.5 results in an ugly, blurry mess.

However, I just found out that the "Proper 4K UI Project" mod works, even though it was not updated for the latest version.

Now I just have to decide, if I want to rely on a - probably abandoned - mod, when clearly the developers should fix it.

Then you have a problem. Mine is not blurring or a mess I can post a screen if I need to. I don't use any mods. They suck most of the time.

A blurry photo is not a good way to show that it isn't a blurry mess.

AFAIK the mod has a few issues with UI elements which have been introduced in recent versions.

But if you don't need an x2 scale, you could try https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3290499798
That's a fixed version of the original proper 2k ui project

Scaling to 1.5 is not sharp in my book, but the enhanced 2K mod works. Many thanks!

Try to zoom into the text in the outliner. The letters z and a in the word Kazan in the merchant sections glow into each other and the rest of the text is not very sharp either. The text "Age of Discovery" at the top is also quite blurry when zoomed in and it looks like the camera was not perfectly still when taking the photo. And the 3k in the army in Kholm is quite pixelated and the borders of the flag are not sharp either
