Can I fabricate claims on a province that is near the province of one of my vassals?
So I am the Ottoman Empire and I have the opportunity to get one province in Crimea. It wouldn't be near my lands, so it would be kind of isolated there. It could be a mess to defend and dealing with rebels will be a pain.

So I was thinking that I may take the province and then release it as a vassal.

But this got me thinking that if I make it a vassal I may not be able to fabricate claims on provinces that border it – as opposed if I were to simply annex it.

Is it possible to fabricate claims on provinces that my vassal borders?

Nope, you have to share borders with the ones you're trying to fabricate claims on

No. Your vassal can fabricate claims on nations that it borders, and you can declare wars based on those claims, but you cannot directly fabricate on provinces next to your vassal.

You can start farbricating the claim and then release or sell the province, ending up with a claim in an area where you would otherwise not have been able to have one.

Those are good ideas. Thanks!
