how do i get someone to unrival me(without becomeing either stronger or weaker, and without war)

So i'm playing as Sweden, ive eaten all of Norway on Scandinavia and almost all of Denmark. Lithuania(who was freed by Poland for having bad prestige when their king died) ate Crimia and most of the Livothian order. im allied to Poland, so are they. I'm an enemy of Moscovy, so are they. yet they decided to rival me, and I have not rivaled them back as i want to ally them and defeat Moscovy. but i cant do anything with them unless they unrival me.

Note: ive improved relations to about +75 (as much as i can).

Unfortunately, since the rival system uses your military and economic strength to decide who is eligible, afaik, the problem is that the AI *must* fill the slot if it can. They don't have "hold off on fillingthe rival slot with the one possible rival because they're an advatageous ally" logic in the code.

So basically, as the game progresses and there are fewer and fewer powers of equal strength, the number of possible rivals for the remaining great powers starts to shrink.

Get big enough, however, and even the remaining great powers cannot rival you, I've noticed, because you're just too powerful and outside their league.

Of course at that point you become much less dependent upon allies.

Also, tech level seems to matter (or did).

I played a Japan game where I was #1 in the world while still chinese tech with maxed out military and the biggest income.

Spain, Portugal, Britain all wanted to be pals and I allied Spain and Portugal.

As soon as I westernized, poof, they all rivaled me :D

the thing is, Lithuania has expanded a lot to the point that they are eastern and im western, they are as strong as me, i cant expand anywhere as it would be into the Empire, im allied with the English but if i really wanted to i could turn on them, but they'ed have to attack me with their namy in the Baltic or i lose. im just hoping Lithuania gets into a war with Muscovy, weakening them both and i can attack from the north and liberate Novgorod(they have 1 province left) and eventually diplo-annex them.

You need to ally up and stomp them.

The thing to know with Lithuania is that they have so many different cultures and thus little countries inside of them that a great way to beat them is to war on them just to get their war exhaustion through the roof.

You press F12 ingame to take one, after that you go to the screenshot, and copy the text or link of the adress of that screenshot, make sure you have enabled the corresponding setting within Steam itself so that you can see the adress.

Then you paste that link here, and Steam will take care of the other stuff automatically, basically it will show up here. Be sure to have set the screenshot to ''Visible to all/public'' or similar. Good luck.

Oh sorry, I was thinking maybe you used Steam to take the usual screenshot.... It is possible to upload a custom screenshot that you might have took elsewhere, I will not go into detail since I dont know that in my head without a manual...

Your best bet is to google it. ''Steam How to upload custom screenshots'' or similar.

honestly, i was thinking about forming Scandinavia b/c when you form a new country you get a ? as additudes for everyone, they may change to neutral or somthing
