Ultimate Bundle worth it?
Hello, I just finished my first playthrough of the EGS version. Mostly due to the ease of modding, I now want to purchase it on Steam. Is the large bundle worth purchasing given how heavily it is on sale? I'm asking.because the majority of DLCs have mixed or negative reviews.

That's because EU IV players are quite salty indeed. And honestly I think most, or many, negative reviews of the DLC are due to the value, that they were overpriced for what they bring. In that light, if it is heavily discounted the main objection is overcome.

My suggestion... since you like the game it is worth it to get a fully up to date install.

I just took a quick peek to see what you'd be spending and it's 44 bucks. Do it.

Steam reviews aren't unbiased or up to date. For example, Leviathan launched with some horrible game-killing bugs. It got terrible reviews as a result. The bugs got fixed years ago, but the reviews were never changed. On top of that, there is an organized, dedicated group of Paradox haters who intentionally review bomb every EU4 release no matter what.

There are too many fat kids around the world because of video games social media and a fast food restaurant on every corner. I would take a guess and say many of these kids are in that organized and dedicated group.

I don't pay much attention to reviews anymore. Reviews had me not playing many games. Because of reviews I didn't play Kingdom Come Deliverance for years. When I found it on sale and gave it a try I was surprised at how much I loved and still love the game.
But what do I really know? I also like Starfield . 😆

40 dollars for ultimate edition is well worth it. The main complaints are the price/the DLCs not doing more, and the kinda stupid things they used to lock behind a paywall (like being able to give your allies land during a war). Neither of those things are a factor in this sale.

I've paid at least double that on EU4 over the years and I think it's still worth the money.

Short answer: Yes. Buy it.
Long answer: It depends. You could consider the subscription for EU4 until EU5 releases (if you want to buy EU5 and if you own no DLC at all for EU4.

Total rubbish , Paradox are their own worse enemy at the end of the day it comes down to pure greed , For every fanboy their are 10 normal people who want value for money as we saw with the release of IR which got slated because people are sick and tired of paying for half baked games that might be good in a few years if you shell out the cash.

And if you look at the reviews of the DLC its the same old story too expensive for what you getting or game mechanics that should have been part of the base game , At the end of the day if your flogging mechanics of your game to make the game a better experience what do you expect?

Too put it into perspective if you payed $400 for EU4 you could have bought 12-15 games on steam more if you buying from Indie Devs

If they try the same tactics with EU5 i expect that to get slated in the reviews

Total rubbish

Total truth. Leviathan did launch with horrible game killing bugs. They were indeed all fixed. But the reviews were never updated. Etc. It's now my second favorite expansion, behind only Art of War.

That is just people who cant be bothered to change their review and nothing to do with review bombing.

Only fat kids that eat tons fast food and play video games would like Starfield. You done ousted yourself. Sorry sir, but it appears your BMI is way too high. As such your review is invalid and your Starfield passport is revoked.

It's not either/or, it's both. The review bombing contingent hits every single DLC release by Paradox regardless of its quality or lack thereof.

Maybe because their to expensive for what you get i mean that's the general feeling you get while reading them.

Sure, people like yourself feel that way. Which is fine--hate them all you want. But those of who love Paradox's DLC policy because it provides more cheap hours of gaming than any other approach will keep buying them. When a new DLC for $20 gives me 500+ hours of fun, it's a bargain, not "too expensive for what you get."

Not everyone puts thousands of hours into 1 game the vast majority spread their precious time dabbling in many different games therefore they do not get the value out of it like you do.

Lets breakdown what you get for $20.

A few new mission trees
The odd button you can press in a campaign
A new mechanic just the one maybe two

And that's not to mention you don't even get the new sprites you have to buy them separate from the DLC total cost $28 for one freaking main DLC.

They have even increased the price of subscription by 35% was £4 two years ago now £6.69 its disgusting.

Their is a reason why PDX are a money grubbing meme in the gaming world but hey you fight the good fight.
