Let it go Norway achievement
Can I just rush the colonization, have couple provinces in Canada, move the capital there, and just get rid of everything in Scandinavia?

Or is there something that I'm missing that would make this more difficult?

Do you still own the Faroes or Shetland? Those are in the same state as Iceland...

To move your capital to a colonial region, it must be the only stated province which you own on its continent and it must not border any of your other provinces. You could use Orkney for this(and unstate everything else), but otherwise you either need a province on a third continent as a temporary capital or you already have to lose provinces at this stage.
And to lose your provinces in Scandinavia, you probably have to gain independence. This might be the most difficult part unless the new DLC made it much easier

I just realized that you can lose provinces while being a junior partner if you release a vassal and grant them provinces. This might be even easier than becoming independent

Greenland counts as the Canada region, by the way, so you don't even need to abide by the whole "one remaining province" deal that's usually the case. So it's the easiest thing in the world to colonize there, save up a few adm mana to move over, then release Iceland and Sapmi as vassals and give them everything else.

The achievement requires a capital in colonial canada and not in the canada region
Edit: I was wrong

Not according to the "achievements" document in the EU4/Common folder, or to the console print-out of the command: "test_achievement achievement_let_it_go". Both of those say that your capital need only be in the Canada region, not the colonial part specifically.

Try it yourself. "colonize 1104" or "colonize 1105" to grab either of the right provinces, "adm 250" to give yourself a bit of leeway, move your capital to Greenland, release Iceland and Sapmi, and give them all your provinces; then "test_achievement achievement_let_it_go". Don't even have to unpause.

I'm guessing whoever added this to the wiki simply assumed that it meant the colonial part of Canada, as that's what 99% of the other similar achievements look for.

Wait so can I just sell every single province in Europe I have except my capital and then just move the capital to colonies?
RCMidas Sep 16, 2022 @ 1:10pm
As long as it's not a colonial nation yet and you can afford the admin cost (~300), yes.

You are right. Thanks for the correction. I don't know why I wrote colonial canada when I updated the wiki.

OMG YOU WERE RIGHT. It was the Faroes, so tiny I didn't even notice. I got the achievement now, thank you!!
