Did they break Castile?
I've played about 5 games so far after not playing in a few patches, and every single time Castile fails to successfully take even Granada, let alone Aragon. With it either being a stalemate due to alliances, or in the case of my most recent game, actually getting stomped by morocco/tunis while failing to siege down Málaga. They were only saved by a last minute DoW from Portugal, which caused morocco to peace out for ducats and lose all occupied castillian forts.

The Infantes of Aragon disaster is absurdly difficult to deal with if you choose to side with the King, what with the wild event spam lowering stability.

The easy option is the Infantes are Right but that locks you out of the Isabelle of Castille event for some reason, making it more difficult to get a PU over Aragon. Not to mention Aragon's habit of turning into Republic, making it IMPOSSIBLE to to PU at all

Playing Castile. I navigated successfully all early game stuff thrown at them, inherited Aragon, and wasn't my intention, but ended up with Portugal and it's colonies. I kept the emphasis on admin well into the 1500s and was still behind on admin tech. But that is not a change. I have noticed that Aragon in my other games now often goes republic. Anyway, it is playable. I do have one gripe. I know it is random, but every time (going back years) I have played Castile , Isabel always dies as my heir. Just one sucky leader after the other.

Does Aragon becoming a republic ompletely screw the iberian wedding?

In my experience it depends on how well portugal does. Either they both flounder in Iberia or portugal annexes nearly all of morocco while castile blobs all the way to the mamluks within like 30 years.

Yes. Worse still, I'm pretty sure they can flip while they're already in a PU, instantly breaking the wedding after it's already happened.
