Crash at August 1st, 1676
I am playing a game in India in the 1670s. I can play at a decent framerate for most of the game so far, but I have a huge problem. The game consistently crashes on August 1st, 1676. This happened before, in 1655, but I just played at 1 speed on observer mode for that year and started from an old save, and that seems to have solved it. I tried this with my 1676 problem to no avail. I am using a few mods, but they work fine otherwise and don't have a reason to conflict with one another. I have also tried to run it offline, but I can't fix it. What should I do? I don't want this game to end, because it has been so good. Please help me!!!!

I know about five same date crashes in the current version:

  1. when a message about an incident in the HRE should be displayed. This usually happens with the King in Prussia incident when the game is in French, but other incidents and languages might have the same problem. Usually it helps to switch to english, but one person said that they had to switch to german temporarily(you can switch back after you got the message popup)
  2. the "Enforced Unity of Faith" clergy privilege runs out and you use macOS. That can be worked around by not taking the privilege or by passing the date on another OS(e.g. in a virtual machine). For some people it also helped to grant an additional privilege. For this player the privilege that helped was "expansionist zealotry". And for another user it helped to give the clergy 4 privileges.
  3. a crash related to military access by the ai. This doesn't always happen exactly on the same date and in my tests it seems that it is possible to get past the crash if you try often enough(especially if you have an older save game form which you have several months so that conditions can change more)
  4. a crash related to a CN with a parliament that has its capital in a colony that is dying(I'm not sure if all of these are relevant for the crash)
  5. when the senior partner of burgundy gets annexed in a war[forum.paradoxplaza.com]. I didn't look into the details and I don't know if this has to be the senior partner from the burgundian inheritance or if it can also happen in other situations.
  6. game changing mods could lead to additional same date crashes
  7. unit model mods and a country getting a tech for a new unit model that is broken(or maybe triggers a bug in the eu4 or the graphics driver)
I'm out of ideas.
1. the King of Prussia Incident is not active and my game is in English.
2. I have not used the Enforced Unity of Faith privilege.
3. The Military access ai thing is the only one that might make sense, but I've tried reloading many times from multiple save files, and it doesn't work.
4. I don't think the CN with a parliament in a failing colony explains it because I haven't seen any nations like that.
5. Burgundy doesn't even exist at this point.
6. I do have some mods, but they're hardly anything I'd call game-changing. One is a graphics mod and the others are made by the same people and I know for a fact that they are all up-to-date and compatible.
7. I don't think it is this one either because I don't have any unit model mods.
Also, I have a pc that has never had a problem running eu4 before yesterday.
Any other suggestions.

If the mods are just graphical mods, it doesn't hurt to try to disable them.

If you play the game in english, try to switch to german and see if you can get past the date that way(in that case it is not the king in prussia, but some different message. Maybe a log message which isn't even shown).

If these don't help, I can have a look if you provide me with your save game and links to the workshop pages of the mods which you use.
