Does AI Poland or Lithuania ever form the Commonwealth?

For some reason, I never see the Commonwealth form, nor do I ever see AI Prussia form. Is it just my luck, or is it just unlikely for those nations to form?

its unlikely for brandenburg to expand so hard into teutonic order since AI is quite bad with ultilizing aliances and it is even less likely for teutons to take on HRE.
and yes, poland sometimes does form commonwealth.

i have the comonwealth in my current one

boy do i love it! france finally has a faithfull worthy ally, it totally changes the european balance as commonwealth is the n 3 nation in the world

every playthrough is different, once i had burgundy collapse and austria refusing to take the netherlands, once had england totally disappear(one big scotland!), once had england PU spain...ended up with one monster red blob, ouch...
once had a monster bohemia annexing austria...

The AI can form the Commonwealth, though I've noticed Super Poland becoming a regular thing as well.

It's about 50-50 in my experience. Sometimes Lithuania breaks free of Poland, sometimes other nations interfer. I had one game where Serbia gobbled up Hungary and then Poland. Whenever the Commonwealth does form though, it tends to stay within its borders. I have never seen them do anything noteworthy, apart from some border conflicts.

Wow, I did not expect to see so many responses! Thanks everyone! Out of curiosity, how many of you have seen the AI form nations like Hannover or Westphalia? Or Italy for that matter?

Tuscany in my current Hungary game has all the requisite provinces for forming Italy, but isn't doing it. Not sure why not. Denmark also has united the north, but isn't forming Scandinavia either. This is strange because England always forms Great Britain asap and same with Muscovy to Russia, Poland to Commonwealth, and Castille to Spain. I think the super-states that existed in history are formed by AI whenever possible, but the super-states that did not exist in this timeframe are not formed by the AI.

Yeah, anything particularly ahistorical is unlikely to happen. Figured that out when super-Denmark appeared and refused to form Scandinavia in my France game. I'm actually disappointed that th AI has such a limitation. I was so hoping Italy would be an exception. Oh well, maybe Hannover might be different.

maybe that has something to do with "lucky nations", since all the historical "luckied" nations form big compounds and unexpected powers don t....

The Commonwealth requires that their union doesn't fall apart and that they have high stability.

Guess what, I was playing with Ottomans. Commonwealth was so big in 1700s, that it was bigger than Ming (I don't see this quite often) So I fight with them and they came to me like 200 army with 2&3 star generals I only had 60, so all my work gone, they want everything except Marmara Region. I deleted the save.

It usually depends on the Ottomans is PLC form I've noticed. As long as they leave Poland to its own devices until Adm 10 Commonwealth will more often than not form, since Ottos are the only immediate and close foe of Poland. The Scandinavian countries often do their own thing and rarely focus on Baltic conquest until the other two are properly dead. The HRE have little interest in Poland and Vice versa, and Novogrod is to weak to do anything to Poland, and Muscovy have its own race to play.
So out of my 20-25 playthroughs, i think ive seen PLC or Super-Poland form in 70-75 % of the games, and they blob like cracy whenever I play as the Ottomans (4 times) because I just cant be bothered with them.
Prussia on the other hand, 600 hours in the game and I'ce never seen the AI form them, putting it bluntly.
