Playing as Japan, should I convert to Confucian?

Just wondering if staying as Shinto is such a big deal I mean, as I'm conquering all of china most provinces are either Confucian or Budhist and I got some confucian rebels out, once they captured their first province I got the option to convert and I didn't even conquer 30% of china yet.

You can't really convert from Shinto so don't bother trying.

It said I could when I was playing a native american if the majority of my provinces followed said religion or if it belonged to the same religious group which I suppose it's the case with Shinto and Confucian.

Just wondering if there's a disadvantage or a hidden issue with this but I'm fairly sure I'll get over 50% of my provinces as confucian if I keep expanding into china.

Oh, nvm, Shinto apparently has a -2% conversion like muslins so it would be easiler to conver the world than Japan...
