1.13 How to HRE as italy ?

So i'm playing a Florence - Tuscany - Italy game but I want to stay in the HRE and play the HRE game ... the thing is in 1.13 when you form italy you get kicked out of the empire :'( ... so is there any way to get around this or rejoin the empire in another way.

that's something i'm trying to do but religious war in the empire made some of the elector dislike me because i'm catholic and they are protestant or reformed :/ and even if i become hre would i still get kicked out ?

Nope.

If not the Holy Roman Emperor or an Elector:

Leave the HRE
Emperor receives event "Italy formed and left Empire"
Emperor riceves the opinion modifier -150 "Left the Holy Roman Empire".

Would be even possible as elector. Okay it's easier to become emperor than an elector. :D Without the -150 you could even try to join the hre again.

It is 100% possible. Quill18 did a Ferrara Lets Play very recently (patch 1.12) where he becomes emporer, forms Italy, and puts Italy back in the HRE.

The link below is patch 1.12 with Common Sense enabled. The link will take you to the part where he is about to form Italy, he is already Emporer, and then he will put his provinces back into the HRE as Italy.

EDIT: if you watch the entire LP, he became emporer merely by increasing reputation with electors, none of them were Vassalized.

yes I watched quill18 let's play ... that's why I found it so strange it kicked me out ... but I guess I will just try to become empire ... but Austria is huge (integrated Hungary :'( ) and is super scary and I don't see the elector switching their votes ... I vassalized the Papal states (an elector) 'cause i taught they would vote for me ... they won't :'( and now the other electors have a -50 modifier because "vassalized elector" or something like that .... should I just release the papal states ?

By the grace of the eu4 gods I have prevailed I am now emperor of the hre the electors love me after Austria and everybody else declared a punitive war against me but france, spain and my friendly electors joined and against all ods i managed to concede defeat ... lost 10 prestige but I think It could have been a lot worse. :)

yes indeed ... but now i'm struggeling with that myself trying to get some imperial authority. Any tips ?

Need advice on a something ...the tables are turned ... I wrecked austria in a imperial intervention war and I now have 99% warscore against Austria ... but now I don't know what to ask them ... should I ask them to release Hungary which would cost me 91 warscore or should I ask them to bring back several smaller states and return cores to other nations ... what would be best to strengthen my position as emperor ? (What do i have to do to get max Imperial authority out of this? )

i suggest to release styria for 100 ws and become buds with them.

I'm unable to release Styria ... their cores aren't there anymore ... :'( what now
