Hey i am a really big fan of playing as a native and i was wondering how to play as Chimu. There different then anything else and though being a 1 province minor they are a type of republic. So i was wondering if theres anyway to play as Chimu that won't get me killed instantly.

I don't really think there is. The only thing that makes it possible to play the other OPMs is that they can take on other smaller nations and then worry about the big fish. Since you're the only possible target the Inca will have I think they'll always go after you.

I think war with the Inca is unavoidable, and winning that will be very tough. Hope for a good general, take out tons of loans to get your army as big as possible, and try to get them to attack you in defensive terrain. I don't think there's much else you can do.

If you can get them to not attack you you can colonize at Admin level 4. If they attack you, you probably need a big deal of luck to get a good general, have as many armies as you can, let them attack you and get huge negative combat modifiers and win that decisive battle with lucky dice rolls. Then you can carpet siege their land so they won't get another army up and demand maximum provinces in a peace deal. Then you need luck with not getting overrun by rebels and once you stabilize you play it like you would play an Aztec game. Colonize, westernize, conquer SA.

ok i just tried it and i changed my troops to the american forest warriors cause they got the defensive stuff and i put them on a hill and waited for the Incas troops to arrive and i won. I am now seiging all of Inca land because of it.

well its definitley possible with the different unit on mountains there 13 dudes attacked my 8 and i won with a 1/0/0/0 general won the war and took 3 provinces then went bankrupt. Im going to try and do it without going bankrupt because i want to stay a republic but i don't think its possible.

So i just vassalized the rest of Inca which is pretty much Nazca and a few other provinces and i was wondering what tech i should go for Innovation or Exploration because of the new westernization requirements?
