Massive amount of Rebels
I just got when I played EU4 in one Normal Revolt 32,000 (!) Rebels in one province. The Rebel Rate was at 8-10%. Is this a new, to make the game ************** or is it just a bug? My 15,000 Army can't handle it, after it I got peasant with ~25,000 Rebels. My Neighbor (Novgorod) Was at 3-7% Revolt Risk, and I saw +30,000 revolts. What I did: Rage Quit.

You can let them occupy and than you can submit to their demands which if they are nationalists will only result in reduced taxes (local atonomy) and reduced RR. I'm not saying you didn't get screwed because it sounds like you did but there are ways to deal with it usually.

I played the Game for a lot TIme and I never got such big Revolts. +30k Rebels in 1 Revolt (only 5-10% Revolt Risk) Is absurd. I even did a pic. to show what I mean: (Me and china had 5%< Revolt Risk) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266646698

Make sure you game is updated to the latest version. (In 1.6 rebels were insane so they fixed it for 1.6.1)
Other then that, I dont know if the AI is supporting rebels in countries of rivals. That with very bad luck could be a reason it got out of hand

The rebels are still insane in 1.6.1. I'm playing an Austria game right now and I annexed Bohemia and a stack of 140k rebels popped up in prague, noped the hell out of that with a released vassal!

Good to know that it's not only me. My Game is on 1.6.1.0, started a new Game, my annexed few Nowogorodian provinces, (Overextension under 90%!) and 90k Rebels and 40k peasants popped out. If I was sieging, a 45k Nowgorodian Peasant Army killed my 5k Army there. This is just Insane. Any Tips how to fix it? I dont want to play like this

Yep, playing as Russia (or now trying to). Every other month a 12 stack rebels pops.

This is BEFORE the 1.6.1 hotfix but after 1.6 rebel changes.

I have managed to expand as bardenburg without any issues by vassal and diplo-annex and conquest to expand my army size asap.

It also doesn't hurt to have a major power willing to mope up those rebels for you. As bardenburg I had one rebel and Austria beat the 13k stack. I also had some 10k stacks from random event that were not tied with RR and I didn't need foreign help moping them up.

Iv gotten anywhere from 20 to 40 stacks......... This will make campaining hard

only played the new version as uzbek so far and I've managed rebels fine so far. In fact it just turned 1501 and I own all of asia except for india and ming. Most rebels I've had is 12 stacks with no generals and I always harsh treatment nationalists and patriots when I take land.

I wonder if rebels are just absurb in the west because I looked at the map when I launched my game again and in 60 years no one has conquered anything. Only poland has fallen. I wonder if they just made it harder to play in western europe?

Mid 1700's in my Ireland campaign and have had no serious rebel threat and the world seems to be handling them just fine. Everyone is expanding and doing well. Maybe because I only play on Hard Difficulty the ai is better equiped to handle the rebels but it's pretty much business as usual.

yea.....the rebel change is basically causing me (and my friends) to shelf this game until its fixed. Usually i get late game fatigue and stop around 1650, now im getting that same kind of fatigue by 1500. Take over three provences, spend the next 20 years sitting around doing nothing but kill rebels every month.

so much fun.

either that or i can go through the hastle and switch it back to 1.5.

Yep. I just started a new game tonight to see if it would make any difference. I took over 4 provinces, only 4, and now I'm getting 50k rebel stacks in them. It's insane. Paradox, why will you not fix this!?!

In my game, other governments don't seem to be able to handle them either. Governments all over the world are just falling apart. I understand that civil wars happen, even in modern society, but this is absurd.

What kind of games that you are running into 50k rebels? Because I am not and even as a small nation Bardenburg I can expand to take Danzig and hold it just fine. (Bigger tax base = bigger rebels)

It does look a little odd like we all have updated to the 1.6.1 hotfix but it doesn't seem to work for everyone.

I'm using an extended timeline mod (I think it's the second most popular mod on the workshop). I started a game as Germany, right after world war 1. I figured it would be a good starting point since Germany was so powerful in the 20th century. I invaded and capured Switzerland, I only took 2 provinces, although I could have taken as many as I wanted. Then I took 2 provinces from Belgium, while I was defending an ally.
Those 4 provinces are obliterating my military. I've spent nearly a decade trying to calm down the rebels, and I've taken tens of thousands of casualties in the process.

You could blame the mod for this, but I don't think that's fair. I've been using this particular mod for a few months now, long before 1.6, and I've never had such insane ammounts of rebels.
