expansion idea vs exploration idea

whats better. i would think its exploration because it gives you exporers and conquistidors

Most likely depends on your nation and what you want or are going to do.

If you are Portugal and want to explore uncharted seazones so you can colonize all the islands and control the traderoutes, you probably want exploration first.

Then if you are Russia and only need to colonize neighboring areas and maybe expand into Asia later, I could imagine you'd be fine with Expansion only...

Otherwise it seems Expansion is more like an additional upgrade to Exploration.

Imo Exploration is for overseas colonizing, while Expansion is better if you want to get into Asia.

but wouldn't exploration help because of the conquistidors to explore asia and it gives you two colonists

Yeah, but it's not necessary. The +dip relations helps you expand via vassalization. Next patch though, Expansion is going to be an ADM idea.
