Is it actually possible to find El Dorado?

I believe it is possible, but I don't know what happens when you do. My guess would probably be gold and prestige.

There was something like "you found the city of gold" which gives you a permanent base tax added to your income. You will keep this extra income permanently. So it's like a hidden province kinda.
I believe tax modifiers also apply to this extra income.

Thanks for the replies. Managed to find the event id list, and it looks like it actually is possible. Shame I can't seem to trigger the event, I really want to see what bonuses you get for successfully discovering El Dorado or the Fountain of Youth.

Sadly, it´s pure luck.

The only chance is to command your conquistadore to search for the seven cities. The events will fire randomly and when you hav the option to search for one of the seven cities, a modifier will be added in your regency tab.

I actually did not find this post, so thank you! At the moment, my conquistadore is searching the last pockets of South America for the Fountain of Youth, and now I'm really hoping he's successful.
