Danish/Norse names for English provinces/cities
Hello, an hour ago I started a Custom nation with Danish as primary culture and Norse as religion. I also made a whole idea set and worte a description, took around a hour of headaches and sweat to get this perfectly down and set up the game. I'm going for ultra realism so my Dynasty was called Hvitserk, after the original Danish kings of York/Jorvik. I have 4 provinces in England which are the Danelaw region: Northumbria-Yorkshire-Lincoln-Norfolk. Now I went for realism and changed my capital- Yorkshire - To Jorvik. (and the city in the province) but that's where it ends and i need your help. What are the danish names for English provinces? I googled but could not find anything.

Thanks

Northumberland could be called Danelag (occupied territory of the vicings in middle and north GB)
Lincoln - Grimsby (a city founded by the vikings)
Yorkshire - Jorvik (York)

Many place names in the British isles are anglo-saxon, so wouldn't neccesarily change much. Note that I have no understanding of Nordic languages and am just using wikitionary.

Yorkshire = Jorvikskir (York becomes Jorvik, obviously)
Norfolk = Norfolk (Norwich becomes Norvik)

Northumberland and Lincoln are a bit harder. The former because it's a reference to the river, and the latter because it's not germanic. You could just leave them be or "nordify" the pronunciation a bit to make a loan word.

Danelag is Danish for Danelaw, which is way more then just Northumbria. Lincoln I renamed to Grimsby as that other dude suggested. England still has a llot of provinces left.
