Spain Mission Tree - Potosi Silver

Hi,
Anyone knows how is "Potosi Silver" mission meant to be played? You cannot expand Centre Of Trade if it belongs to a colony and it becomes part of a colony as soon as you colonize it. I am aware of loosing to a native tribes and feeding the province to them and then vassalize them (in my case that is no longer possible, no tribes left), but that is a work-around I cannot believe this is what the designers had in mind.

It only goes to a colonial nation if you already have 4 (or more) cores in that area so you need to grab the province right away then develop it before you get up to 5 cores in the colonial area.

You can also move your capital to the grey zone(Bermuda etc.) , so you can actually own all the lands in new world to your country not for the colony.

This mission surely feels strange. I manged to complete it by changing colony type to "Self-Governing Colony" (that sets the colony in direction of self-development), spending some adm/dipl/mil point in that province and eventually the colony upgraded the center of trade on its own.

You can upgrade centres of trade in your colonial nations.

I was going to say that, but to be honest, I can't say if this feature is part of a DLC and that is why the OP can't do it.

I actually prefer to have every colony as self governing. It makes them stronger and more useful in wars.

The mission only requires an upgraded center of trade if you play with the Dharma DLC
