Where's the 100 years war?
I'm still relatively new to eu4. I've decided to start my first France ironman campaign. However, neither England nor France are on the 100 years war in 1444. Was it removed in an update, or is it a glitch? I don't have any DLC enabled either.

In 1444 they were under a truce.

This is due to new patch 1.12 of the Common Sense dlc:
  • Hundred Years War is no longer raging in 1444 as the countries had a 5 year truce at the time.

No problem.
Also france has cores on england lands on the continent, and england has 1 core on french land and can get a mission to take the french throne, so the war can still continue after the truce, as it did historically

For a brief intro England and France fueded for 116 years historically ending in 1453. It was a collection of wars within those years ending with the french victory. In England it started the Wars of the Roses which many houses within England fought for the throne. Have Fun!

What they said.

The Hundred Years' War starts out frozen in a truce, in part to represent the historical peace (such as it was), and to give England more of a sporting chance (as opposed to just getting instantly crushed by the hordes of blue troops).

You'll find it reappear soon enough, as it won't be long before France, England, and/or Burgundy plunge back into the generalized war.
