Kingdom of Italy in the Holy Roman Empire
Well, so I'm playing Austria and I got the event to make sure the lands in the Kingdom of Italy remain in the Empire before 1490, so I invaded Venice and captured all their provinces in-land (which led to a coalition against me but I managed to survive and even win with a minimal demand of a few shekels), now my question is, do I also have to capture provinces from the Papal States and add it to the Empire? If so, how many, Romagna and Urbino or just Romagna?

Thanks. Also taking hints on how to get "The Pen is Mightier than the Sword" (3 PU with Austria).

You can use the Holy Roman Empire map viewer to see which provinces are supposed to be in the HRE. Essentially in 1490 Savoy, Milan and company will leave the HRE unless you conquer them or vassal them.

Makes no sense, the event states they leave IF I don't conquer the rest, which is basically what I'm doing. And Venice didn't hold any imperial province.

The Pen is mightier than the sword - Austria gets special mission to place Hungary and Bohemia into PU's by force, so you can use those Casus Belis to force PU upon them, The third PU is bit more difficult and requires a little bit of luck to get the same dynasty as another nation to increase chance of PU and/or force PU by claiming the throne if you have the same dynasty and they have no heir or a weak claim heir.

I didn't get it, I only got the one with Hungary, actually I didn't get anything I only got the notification that Hungarians chose to be united with us, it wasn't an event.

The entire "kingdom of italy" region needs to be part of the empire, including every papal state province (Roma, Ancona, Umbria, Romagna and Urbino).

Uch, that will be horrible for my relations, not to mention Papal influence, I think I'll just have to accept the fact they will leave.

You just need to do Rome last just before 1490ish and have then cored and in the HRE. After that simply revoke the Pope's cores back to thrm. Gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet.

Well, I could, but I believe if I attempt this now and take all their lands in Italia, it will strike another coalition war, and as I'm playing Ironman quite newbie to ironman, that would be too much to handle.
