Cannot Transport Condottieri

I must be missing something but I cannot transport the army I hired out as condottieri.

I have 4 condottieri units hired out and 4 transport units. All the "Allow Allied" are permitted. I've even formed an alliance with just to make sure. Sadly, I am unable to transport these troops, even with porting and military access permissions, to land owned by the hiring nation.

Does anyone have any ideas?

How are you trying to transport the troops? Condottieri can't be attached to ship(the button is greyed out and it tooltip tells you why). But you should be able to move your ships into a sea tile which is adjacent to the condottieri's province and then select the condottieri and right click on the sea tile to move the troops into the ships.

Yeah, it's greyed-out but nothing beyond the standard tool-tip it provided. However ...

(And is about the most asinine way to accomplish this when you can port ships freely in a province.)
