I'm thinking if i'm going to buy "The cossacks" or not
I'm tired of paying more and more for dumb DLC's. And despite the fact that i personally admire Paradox for their games and how they interact with the community compared with other companies, this have to end. I'm willing to pay for a DLC, but 15-20$? WTF that's like the price of a game.
They must make lower prices. If i'm not downloading this game free on the internet is because i really believe in it. Pls Paradox stop being so fuc..ing greedy:blocked:

Well, the Sims 3 dlc's still want to bite your wallet with almost 500€ hunger, and the sims 4 might go deeper (not here to start a war, i myself love sims franchise, but dont love the Dlc policy of ea)

honestly its the way the market is now 5 years ago high speed internet was a mith for most people so no one would ever download games. Now a days with early access people saw how other people would pay for a game that wasnt finished (and still to this day some of them arent) so the bigger companies were like if people would buy that for 20$ lets just throw'em a game and then when we get a good idea we'll throw those at them too.

To sum up technology means they can pumpout a game and then throw more content at it and charge ya w.e they want, though it does sadden me when i bought a 15$ dlc ant it was 187 mb.
Twas a sad day in the kingdom. Which is why I'd like it to be based on data size, granted for a game like this they probs spent a lot of time trying balance things so there is that.
data size lol, then you just pack 4k textures and encrypt the file :P

code takes time and compresses very nicely, you have to look at the value an dbuy now or later, you could consider they just wise up to peple that only buy during sale and that make early adopters suffe for it

Having to relearn game mechanics once in a while promotes mental flexibility, which slows down the ageing process. Thank you Paradox.
love it. i do not mind paying 20$ for DLC for a game i love playing. The Modding community is so good here i download two mods and it is like a different game. and most take suggestion for new mods.

i mean, maybe if you don't like paying things you could just... not pay for them? just don't buy things you don't want to buy. it's literally exactly like someone said earlier; no one is forcing you to play the most updated version. play an older version and live a fantasy where paradox never released anything after el dorado and you dont have to complain about a paywall because those features aren't even in the game.

once again, it's somebody's job to make all the improvements and add all the content currently in eu4 into eu4. these aren't modders, these are people and this is their job. you dont scream bloody murder when you're buying a cake for your kid at the supermarket and they won't put an intricate icing silhouette in the shape of Will Smith on it for free; the literal icing on the cake that is the icing on the cake isn't free and ought not to be.

dont you know, anyone without the same opinion as you is a hater
I hate fried okra and anyone who doesn't is clearly consorting with demons.

+10

As a side, I'm glad I've moved on from actually getting involved in these threads on the eve of every DLC release. My blood pressure is at a much safer level since making that decision.

Though I admit I'm a bit taken aback by the $19.99 price tag on Cossacks. It seems Common Sense fundamentally changed the game much more, and that was $14.99 at release.

I can't find if there are new sprites to go with it, does the lack thereof necessitate their higher selling point?

I think that the price isn't directly linked to the paid content, more to the free content accomanying the the release. The burden of many on the backs of the few; chances are by buying Cossacks you're paying for the free new RNW for somebody who gave up buying DLC ages ago. The new Random New World generator is free to all owners of Conquest of Paradise, but it was likely made with the expectation that the sales of Cossacks would allow it.

Has the price been confirmed? I can't see The Cossacks dlc in store.

Anyway, I am well beyond fanboy status. I have over 1,300 hours and 78% of the achievements. This game is like a second part time job for me. I perceive great value in this game and have no qualms spending the same amount of money on a DLC which will give me 100's of hours more of gameplay which costs the same amount of money I spend in a few days on fast food.

+1 ( except I *only* have 600 hours and less achievements)

i rather buy me a nice new dlc every once in a while (and if its about the price, just wait for the next sale, it surely comes) than have the game as is and not being patched and improved anymore...
the stupidity in some people realy is next level, anyone who thinks that games are still being worked on by adding major features for free is out of their mind, i gladly pay for my dlc flatrate than having europa universalis 6 by now (starting on a vanilla level, then getting maybe one dlc pack before its rinse and repeat with part 7), anybody who thinks pirating would be the solution to so called greedy devs is everything that is wrong with this industry in one person (be sure to get that anual fifa or something too)
Swazi 2015 年 12 月 1 日 上午 12:47
why would they make eu5 for 40€ when they can make a patch with 1/5 content of full game and sell it for 20€??

and good sales for paradox dls are getting longer and longer, it took way of life dlc for ck2 1 year to go on a 75% sale and the content is not even balanced...

While I love this game and have all the expansions I do think that 20 euros for an "expansion" is too much.

I have now read all the (public) change notes - this is more than an expansion, it adds a substantial boost to freedom of action.
CEM 2015 年 12 月 1 日 上午 4:41
I need them to halt the release however, so that they can add "colonist_cost" as a modifier again a la eu3. Does that pose any problems ? :/
CEM 2015 年 12 月 1 日 上午 4:46
Oh, good then. The other thing I need is something where like native americans dissapear when attacked, but suddenly reappear and slaughter the colony later on. Or for that matter, just something where you can invite the English to a feast and kill about 1/3 of them (nothing against English people ... it's just a game dudes, just a game.)

I own all the DLCs and the content packs , I like Paradox games and I like supporting them in general but 20€ is little bit much. 10€ would be perfect price for big DLCs. There are so many games that I enjoy hundreds of hours those I bought under 20€...
