Multiplayer Issues

So I want to play EU4 with my friend, but whenever he tries to connect to my server, it says we are using different versions, but we are using the same update version

Possible reasons: I am using some graphics mods, I am using the El Dorado DLC but he is not

Please help

Check if all of your enabled mods are ironman compatible. If they are not, or if your partner is running mods that are not ironman compatible, they will not work in multiplayer unless both of you use the same mod(s).

I have no mod running, but it keep say it is not ironman compatible mod

Verify the integrity of game caches and disable all mods on both sides. Then if it works, have both players enable the same mods on both sides. If it doesnt work then, I would beleive that the mods arent multiplayer compatible.

Me and some friends often play together, and this works for us: we need to have the same DLC's activated in order to play together. Also the same mods.

Its fine if you have different Units packs activated, since that is just a matter of your local graphics.

Actually, you don't need to have same dlc's with friend to play multiplayer, game run dlc's of host player and guest players can play game as they have those dlc's even though they don't have
