My CK2 conversion file not appearing or working at all in EU4
I've tried a couple of things and I'm just frustrated I tried making a mod file for EU4 and it still doesn't work I don't know if there's a place where I'm supposed to put the conversion files if anyone knows I need some help

AFAIK it has not been updated for a long time and doesn't work well with any recent eu4 versions. There is an inofficial converter which works much better: https://ck2.paradoxwikis.com/CK2_To_EU4_Converter
I have no clue if it's just putting the conversion file in the wrong spot or something else is it supposed to be in the documents paradox folder?

You need a .mod file for your mod in "Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV/mod/" which has a path= line which points to the folder where your mod is. If you put it in a subfolder of "Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV/mod/", the path= line can just be:
path="mod/foldername"

I think the inofficial converter will just put the files in the correct folders automatically.

If you really want to use the DLC, you probably should roll back eu4 to the version when it was last updated.
Is it normal for the game not to come with a mod folder because I made mine
Do you know the version of EU4 what could use the converter?

The mod folder only gets created if you subscribe to a mod. Did you create yours in Documents? It doesn't work if you put it in the folder where eu4 is installed.

Maybe 1.30. You can check the supported version entry in the .mod file. But I don't think that it was properly updated the last few times that it was updated and it is quite buggy. Why don't you try the inofficial converter?

The inofficial converter works well with the current eu4 version
Alright I switched the version to 1.31 in the game launcher when I go to installed mods I see the file but when I actually get into the game nothing is different?
Wait a minute there's a warning sign saying this mod is made for another version of the game 1.23?

1.23? Are you sure that you are using the mod which you just created? Or did the launcher maybe pick up an older conversion which you did when 1.23 was the current version? Or was it 1.32?

I've only had the game since 2023 and anyways I'm changing the versions of both games 'cause I looked up compatible versions for the converter

Did you switch to an older ck2 version and used its converter DLC? I don't think it is a good idea to load your ck2 save with an older ck2 version.

no I was using the latest version of crusader kings and I just tried EU4 and 1.27 and it worked for a bit and then it crashed but it was still giving me the warning saying the mod is supposed to be 1.23
