If Persia has formed already and they picked Sunni/Shia branching missions - can this achievement be gained anymore?

From what i have seen, if an AI nation completed a mission and you form that nation afterwards, that mission is done for you.

How does this work with branching missions?

I have never seen something like that and I can't reproduce it. If you form a country, your country has not completed the missions, so you can do them, no matter what the AI country did. But if you release and play as a country or switch to an existing country(e.g. some of the event-spawned countries can be switched to. This leaves your old country in the hand of the AI) you get the state of the country like it existed in AI hands.

But two things to keep in mind: There was a bug which prevented you from getting most permanent claims from missions(or other effects) if your tag(not your country) had those claims before. I don't think that this bug has been fixed. And some events can only fire once per campaign, so you won't be able to get them if the AI Persia already got them. But AFAIK this only affects 31 persian flavor events and none of the mission events. The mission events usually either trigger by the mission directly or use country flags which prevent them from happening again and your Persia won't have those flags(unless you release and play as Persia instead of forming them)

Well nevermind, i could have sworn i have seen that somewhere once. Tested it and you keep the missions just as you said
