Sankin Kotai doesn't go away after becoming Shogun
Paradox, Is there any reason that all modifiers enacted by the previous Shogunate still remain after becoming Shogun? Please fix it!

I'm not paradox, but I know a reason: Timed modifiers in eu4 don't support arbitrary conditions(IIRC the only supported condition is religion). "Sankin Kotai" lasts 10 years, no matter what. The same applies to most other timed modifiers in eu4. The only exceptions which I know are religion modifies which are removed if the state religion changes, ruler modifiers which get removed when the ruler changes and modifiers which have a specifically coded way to remove them, but they are very rare.

The only way around such things would be a special event which checks for changed conditions and current modifiers, and then modifies or removes them as needed. There aren't many such events or conditions (usually embedded in missions), and generally it's the sort of thing that only mods would look to patch in.

Makes sense. I wonder if they can remove those modifiers when you become an Independent Daimyo / Shogunate. Add those snippets to the reform itself.
